Subbarayappa of Congress and taluk panchayat members Nagaveni and Lakshmamma have been suspended from the party, said sources from Congress party.

 Subbarayappa had contested for the president’s post as a rebel candidate and had also won the election as against the party’s candidate Venkata Reddy with vthe support of JD (S) during the taluk panchayat president and vice president elections held on Tuesday, it is said.

Nagaveni and Lakshmamma are also suspended for supporting him, it is said.

Subbarayappa had also supported the JD (S) candidate who had contested for Vice president’s post, complained MLA’s and other leaders of Congress party to KPCC president Mallikarjuna Kharge a the meeting.

MLA S M Muniyappa, KPCC member Anjinappa, Mandikal block congress president Narayanaswamy, leaders Yaluvahalli Ramesh, M Prakash, M S Shridhar and others were present at the meet, it is learnt.
