Large-scale Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu said Mysore, the heritage city will soon gain new image as an industrial hub with Rs 25,000 crore investment being made from various sources.
He was speaking after inauguration of Sapna Book Store in the city on Thursday. Many IT-BT companies are already functioning from Mandya and Mysore and more companies are expected to come in the future, he said. Focus is on providing basic infrastructure in the city with the national airport being readied at frantic pace. Agricultural land is decreasing in the country and industrial produce is on the rise. Industrial progress in the last few years has stood at a good 14 per cent, he said.
Unemployment cannot be sorted out unless the country switches over to industrialisation.
Concurrence has been provided for an investment of Rs 200,000 crore, which will create 25 lakh jobs, he added.
