An incident of young boy meeting watery grave has come to light after much delay.

   Santosh (18), son of Sunandamma allegedly died after drowing in water at Basaralu village on Tuesday.
   His friends, who had accompanied Santosh on his venture to the river close by kept the news of his death under wraps, after hiding his clothes.

  Later, when the search for Santosh became intense, his friends came out with the truth.
   According to them, Santosh allegedly died after jumping from atop the mantapa, built on the banks of the river.
   Immediate search for Santosh’s body did not yield any results. Some of the villagers who saw the body floating on the river informed the police.

   The body was handed over to his parents after postmortem. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
