As diverse as it can get
It was actor-playwright-director T N Seetharam who made the trend of getting people from other walks of life to act in serials. Now, actor Ramesh seems to have done the same in his Accident. The actor, directing his third film has roped in RJs, P3Ps, writers, radiologists and serious theatrepersons for his forthcoming film. Apart from himself, Ramesh has chosen Jinkemari Rekha, Pooja Gandhi, Mohan, Balaji Manohar, Chaitanya Hegde, Pathi Aiyer, Longa Mahesh, Rajendra Karant as also Tilak. A diverse group if you can have one. Is it because of this that Ramesh already seems to be nervous? No telling!
Acting is now in his veins?
Ramesh has also managed to secure the services of Dinesh Babu for his film. Not as the director but as an actor! Promising to talk in Kannada (finally!), Babu who teamed up with Ramesh the first time in the superhit Amrutavarshini, confessed that he was not an actor at all. In fact, he is not even aware what his character (ain’t it too obvious?) is upto in the film, trusting good friend Ramesh to steer him in the right direction. However, the friendship has not deterred Babu from giving precious tips to the other. Seems Ramesh seems to have struck a rich vein of creativity here, eh?
The good shishya
For those who do not know, Accident cameraman G S Bhaskar is one of the few proper shishyas of camera wizard V K Murthy. Bhaskar’s work in Nagamandala turned out to be one of the highlights of that film. Impressed with the scriptwork and its execution, he has promised something equally interesting to the viewers. Those watching the film will not be able to easily distinguish whether it is an art film or pucca commercial film. So Accident will not just be a dark film but interesting as well.
What’s in a name?
The trend of giving weird-sounding names to films along with the nice ones, will never go away, it seems. Latest example: Lokey. Yes, a new film has gone on the floors with this name, which its maker Ram Bharatan Devan says, “denotes status quo in the status and thinking of the hero”.
The director-cum-composer-cum-scriptwriter-cum-dialogue writer-cum-producer gave out the story. A sculptor chooses a stone lying near a ditch to sculpt an idol for anointing at a temple. When only the eyes have to be carved out, the stone begins to fancy itself and puts on airs. Alas, the sculptor finds a flaw and the idol is thrown back in the ditch. Interesting analogy this!
Hero in reel life
The term of the erstwhile BMP is long over and there is no elected body in place as such, yet. Then how are the former elected representatives keeping busy? Former corporator Ravindra for one is now busy trying to secure a foothold in films. He is now the hero of Iyengar I.P.S, a story of an Iyengar man who struggles hard to become an IPS officer. However, the politician in Ravindra is quick to clarify that he is not doing the film because he is sitting idle!
A chance meeting with producer Jayaram on his daily walk brought about the opportunity—as a hero in his first film!
Ravindra was also quick to defend the title, saying he did not find anything objectionable in it.
Newcomer Gayatri has already acted in Shankar Bhai IPS in Telugu.
Here, she plays an Inspector and Ravindra’s sweetheart.
