"I was the one that got hit for five sixes at The Oval a fortnight back. I am only a part-time bowler, but even so, it was a horrible feeling," the dashing left-hander remarked. "At the end of the day, I feel sorry for Stuart. It was just one of those days."
Yuvraj and Broad caught up with each other at the end of the night, after India completed an 18-run win over England. "He was just smiling, as was I," Yuvraj revealed. "There wasn't too much to say. If you don't get it right, you can get hit. It can happen to anyone, that's how the game goes in Twenty20 cricket."
England captain Paul Collingwood said Broad would struggle to live that over down. "He is never going to get rid of the fact that he got hit for six sixes in an over," Collingwood noted. "He is a very proud man, he has a lot of pride in his bowling and this will hurt him a lot. It is up to me as captain and up to all of us as his team-mates to get behind him and support him. He has been one of our best bowlers throughout the English summer, always learning and steadily progressing throughout the season. Stuart is someone who loves challenges. This will knock him back a little, but I am confident he will definitely bounce back."
Collingwood had a long chat with Broad after the fifth ball, though the discussion didn't help the tall paceman.
"At that point, we were clutching at straws," the skipper conceded. "We were just hoping he would not get hit for another one. I tried to be a bit jovial, tried to relax him down and speak of the options available. I spoke to him about trying to bowl it a little wider. I told him to back himself. Unfortunately, it didn't come off for him this time."
