Roy sails to gold in high jump
Bhopal:

 Hari Shankar Roy stole the show on the final day of the National inter-state athletic meet here, sailing past 2.22 metres to win the gold in high jump.

Bengal man Roy, now representing Jharkhand, bettered his own meet record of 2.18 to finish ahead of Gujarat’s Vinodkumar Chauhan.

Joseph Abraham, the favourite in the 400M hurdles, lived up to his billing, claiming the gold in 51.03 seconds.
In the men’s 10,000 metres, Surender Singh set a meet mark of 29:06.17 to complete a double while in the corresponding women’s event, Kavita Raut upset Preeja Sreedharan for the gold.
