SBM staff oppose merger
The State Bank of Mysore Employees’ Union on Thursday held a day-long dharna, in protest against the proposal to merge all associate banks with State Bank of India.

Association General Secretary M Anjani said that SBM employees were against the merger, as the bank would lose its identity.It had clocked in a profit of Rs 72.83 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2007. A country-wide strike will be observed on Sep 27, he added.
