Some persons burgled a house in HAL police limits on Friday and decamped with electronic articles and jewellry worth Rs five lakh.
Owner Chaya Ramadas (38), on returning from shopping in the evening found that the house was burgled. The thieves had entered the house, removing air conditioner.
In another case, burglers made away with Rs 1.5 lakh worth electronic gadgets and jewellery from a house in Indiranagar on Friday night. The incident occurred when owner Srikanth had gone to his parent’s house.
Six held on robbery charges
His father-in-law presented him a Tata Sumo as a dowry and requested him to pay half of the vehicle money in instalments four years back. Bore Gowda (26) paid a few installments and found it difficult to repay the remaining instalments. He decided to rob the innocent by offering to drop them at their destinations in his vehicle.
Hebbal police arrested Bore Gowda of Madanayakanahalli and five of his accomplices, Suresh Kumar (19), Muniyappa (23), Ravi Kumar (24), Babu (24), all residents of Laggere, and Prakash (22), Magadi Road. The accused allegedly used to take innocent passengers waiting for the buses and drop them off at remote places after robbing them of valuables, said the police.
The police also recovered jewellery, nine cell phones and one bike, all valued at Rs 2 lakh.
Bank ransacked
Some miscreants ransacked Vijaya Bank branch, in Varthur police limits on Friday night. They broke open the window using gas cutters and gained entry. However, no valuables were found missing. Bank manager Nalini has lodged a complaint.
Hackers arrested
Cyber crime branch cracked two cases wherein miscreants had hacked bank accounts.
Based on a techie’s complaint, the police arrested Velu, Santosh and Saravanan, all residents of Bangalore, and recovered Rs 10,200, two mobile sets and a few ATM cards.
It is learnt that the three had hacked an account in Citi Bank and transferred Rs 75,000 to their account. They had withdrawn money from an ATM kiosk.
In another case, Jaya Prakash, a resident of Mahadevapura had hacked a lady's account and used the money to recharge his pre-paid mobile account.
During interrogation he confessed to the crime and produced the transactions slip.
