People who are physically challenged are not a burden on the society. If they are provided with the right opportunities they can be brought into the mainstream of the society, said Civil Judge (Senior Grade) Pushpanjali Devi.
She was speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Legal Help and Awareness Camp and Distribution of Services to the Physically Challenged Children’, which was jointly organised by the Madhugiri Rotary Club, Lawyers’ Association and Taluk Legal Services Association.
Duly available
If the facilities provided by the Government is made duly available to the physically challenged then their lives would be made easier. Mere sympathy would not help the physically challenged, they need to be provided with the right kind of help, thereby bringing them into the mainstream of the society, she observed.
The physically challenged if provided with the right kind of encouragement can unravel their talents, said JMFC Judge Nataraj.
Two children in the age groups of 1 to 12 years from the Madhugiri taluk will be provided with free heart treatment, by the Rotary organisation. Moreover, on September 23 a free heart check-up camp will be held, he added.
CPI Hanumantha Reddy, Rotary President P C Krishna Reddy and others also participated in the programme.
