The Lokayukta has trapped a village accountant while accepting a bribe on Friday and has arrested him. The accused, is Palaksha of Kuppur village, in Tumkur district.
Ramesh, a resident of Hombayyana Palya, approached Palaksha to get the khata transferred in his name, as he had purchased 8-and-a-half gunta land in Honnenahalli. Palaksha demanded Rs 2,000 bribe to complete the khata transfer process.
But, Ramesh lodged a complaint with Lokayutka. The officials trapped Palaksha at his office when he was accepting the bribe. He was produced before the Principal and District Sessions Judge, Tumkur.

While in another incident, the Lokayukta officials arrested H C Vasanth, village accountant, Kurchi Circle in Virajpet taluk in Kodagu district when he was accepting Rs 1,000 bribe from K T Poovayya for transferring the latter’s khata. Vasanth was produced before the court.
