Dog bite: Woman dies
DH News Service, Pavagada:

An old woman died after she was attacked by a pack of dogs at Ponnasamudra village on Friday.

When Hanumakka (60) was sleeping at night in the courtyard of her house, as many as seven to eight dogs which were quarrelling amongst themselves attacked her. First a dog jumped upon her and bit her neck, which made her helpless from shouting for life, said the villagers.

This is the first case in the district wherein a person has died of dog bite. The public has demanded that stringent measures be taken to bring the dog menace under control in the taluk.
