MadikCodava National Council (CNC) celebrated ‘Kail Pold’, the traditional ‘ayudha pooja’ of Kodagu, at the district auditorium here on Saturday, in a unique manner.
Clad in traditional attire, the activists of the Council, initially gathered near the ‘mand’ of the auditorium, and later took out a colourful procession with decorated vehicles on the main streets of the City. The members in the jatha eventually assembled at the Capital Village.
CNC General Secretary N U Nachappa inaugurated the ‘Kail Pold’ festival by offering special pooja to the agricultural paraphernalia and traditional weapons like gun.
The participants added colour to the fest by taking part in traditional games of the district like kappekali, pareyakali, shaktikol, pallakali, shooting the coconut and such.
