The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is set to ‘prepare and guide’ Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who is hoping to occupy the Chief Minister’s ‘gaddi’ on October 3, during a ‘baithak’ of the saffron organisation in the city on Sunday. The Deputy Chief Minister is likely to take part in the ‘baithak’ that will discuss political matters.
Yediyurappa arrived in the city by a helicopter on Saturday. He will stay at his sister’s place overnight and take part in the RSS meeting on Sunday, before leaving for Bangalore.
However, Yediyurappa is not scheduled to take part in the function in the city, where Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is launching a number of development works.
The ‘secret baithak’ of RSS leaders began here on Friday. Crucial discussions on the political developments in Karnataka will take place on Sunday. RSS sources said that the organisation’s leaders will ‘guide’ the DyCM on issues related to the transfer of power to him.
Twist
Meanwhile, Yediyurappa speaking to reporters at the helipad on Saturday, alleged that the media had twisted the CM’s remark on Hindutva.
“The CM did not make the statement keeping us in mind,” he claimed.
However, Yediyurappa asserted that the BJP was committed to Hindutva and that the concept had a broader meaning. “The country stands on the strong foundations of Hindutva,” he added.
He also allayed fears regarding the transfer power to the BJP. “The CM will certainly hand over power to me,” he added.
