ISRO Public Relations Director S Krishnamurthy, who was seriously injured in a road accident at Sangampalli on August 24, succumbed to his injuries at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati on Saturday.
According to hospital sources, Krishnamurthy had suffered serious multiple injuries in the accident. The body would be handed over to his family members, after conducting post-mortem at Government Ruia Hospital, the sources added.
SVMIS emergency ward in-charge, Dr Shiv Shankar said, a 4 member team from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai, had also attended on KrishnaMurthy. Family sources said in Bangalore that the body would be brought to the city on Sunday. He is survived by his wife and a daughter. An electronic engineer, he had joined ISRO in 1972. He had worked at Sriharikota, ISRO Head Quarters and at the ISRO Satellite Centre. A native of Mysore, he was appointed Director, Publicity and Public Relations in 1989 and served in that position for 18 years.
