Traffic diversion on MG Road

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) has announced  barricading on the southern stretch of MG Road from Dickenson Road junction (Webbs Petrol Station) till Trinity Circle, Near Nalli Silks on Friday.

V Madhu, Managing Director, BMRC said 4.75 meters on either side of the existing median would be barricaded. “By this, road usage will be narrowed down to one / two lanes on the southern side of MG Road. Motorists are advised to use alternate roads following the announcement” he said. BMRC hopes to complete barricading, laying of pile foundation and piers, construction of superstructures (girders) and removal of barricading and finally clearance of the site after completion on reach one (M G Road stretch) by January 9, 2009.


CHANGE IN BUS ROUTE

*Buses proceeding from Halasoor to Majestic on M G Road via Trinity Church Circle, Mayo Hall through Comissiorate Road will be re-routed through Trinity Circle - take left to Richmond Road Circle - Richmond Road - Hosmat Junction - D’Souza Circle and further destination on existing routes through Ashoknagar Signal Light.

* Buses proceeding from Halasoor to Shivajinagar on M G Road via Trinity Church Circle - Webbs Junction will be re-routed through Trinity Church Circle - Kensington Road - turn left to Gangadhar Chetty Road - take left to Dhobi Ghat Road - turn right to Vengalaraya Junction - turn left to Kamaraj Road - turn right to Cubbon Road at K R Road and Cubbon Road Junction and continue on existing route.

* Buses proceeding from Shivajinagar to Viveknagar side except for right turn to Commissiorate Road at Mayo Hall Junction from M G Road, all other routes remain unchanged.

* Buses proceeding from Viveknagar side to Shivajinagar, the route remains unchanged up to Ashrvadam Circle Junction. But instead of taking right turn to Residency Road , all buses will proceed on Museum Road.

* The existing one-way will be changed to two-way on Commissiorate Road between M G road and Residency Road  at Mayo Hall junction.
