The members of Mysore University Lecturers’ Association staged a protest condemning the recent attack on Head of the Department of Commerce, University of Mysore, Professor K Nanjegowda, by three Iranian students, in front of the Crawford Hall, here on Friday. Expressing concern over the incident, they demanded that the university conduct proper investigation into the incident and punish the guilty.

Meanwhile, they also urged that varsity take steps to subject foreign students who seek enrollment for various courses and research works to strict verification before taking them.
Measures
The association members also demanded that measures be taken to make sure that a proper academic ambience required for teachers to work with peace of mind is created.
