Dhol ‘Kiska Bajega’ is a light entertainer, just the kind one would expect from Priyadarshan. The comedy targets those who forget their brains back home. It is typical Priyan brand of humour — irrational, but very funny. Dhol offers some very hilarious moments that will tickle your funny bone even after the movie is over.
The movie revolves around four friends and their greed to become rich. Sam (Tusshar Kapoor), Pakkya (Sharman Joshi), Maru (Rajpal Yadav) and Goti (Kunal Khemu) have tremendous chemistry, especially Rajpal Yadav who will steal all your taalis. The guys are good for nothing. They all want to make it big in life with the least effort possible and the easiest way to do this is by getting married to a rich girl. With perfect timing, the rich girl Kanchan (Tanushree Dutta) arrives in their neighbourhood. All four set out with their individual plans to marry Kanchan, but end up discovering a chilling truth. You can expect laughter in quite a few doses.
The loan sequence in the beginning, followed by the four pushing Om Puri’s car till it falls off a cliff, and then spraying water with hose pipes to extinguish the fire are sequences that will bring the house down.
A big drawback of the film is the flashback sequence. The scenes where Murli Sharma corners Tanushree and Payal Rohatgi in the mansion are monotonous and only adds to the length of the film.
Pritam’s music works for the song Dhol Bajake, while the remaining are ordinary. To sum up, Dhol is a good entertainer worth your penny!
