With over 32 lakh patients suffering from loss of memory in the country, Dementia is fast turning out to be the worst enemy of the aged.
In order to provide early detection of this progressive degenerative brain syndrome which effects memory, thinking, behaviour and emotion, a website was launched on occasion of the ‘World Alzheimer’s Day’ on Friday by Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
This free website, the first if its kind in the country, provides an opportunity for self-assessment of the symptoms of the disease for the aged and their family members.
Both elders and their family members can take a self test by logging on to the site, where they will have to answer some questions. Based on answers, the risk level of the patient and the disease can be known.
