Dr Raj eye check-up camp held
Tumkur, DHNS:

Dr Rajkumar Trust will organise many programmes with regard to eye checkup camp in the coming years, opined Raghavendra Rajkumar.

Speaking at the eye checkup camp held under the aegis of Dr Rajkumar Trust, Tumkur Rotary and Narayana Netradhama here on Sunday, he said “Appaji was aware of the importance of eye donation. Having acted in the movie ‘Bedara Kannappa’ in which ‘Kannappa’ (Dr Rajkumar) donates his own eye to Lord Shiva , he was very serious on donating the eye to other people.

He donated both eyes after he had pledged it. Inspired by him, all family members have pledged their eyes. He was very keen on giving eyesight to blind people. The trust is also moving in the same direction. We have planned to start mobile eye checkup and surgery treatment units across the state”, said Raghavendra Rajkumar.

Producer Parvatamma Rajkumar appreciated the efforts of the trust and Rotary for conducting the camp. Rotary President Shivashankara Kadadevamutt welcomed.

Secretary Vishwanth spoke. Rotary District Governor Rajendra Rai, Vice-Governor Palyam Ramesh, Innerwheel President Subhashini Shivakumar, Kumaraswamy, Venkatananjappa and others participated in the event.

Narayana Netradhama Chairman Dr Bhujanga Shetty, Dr Rajkumar Trust Vasan and others gave the guidance. Hiremutt seer Dr Sri Shivananda Shivacharya Swamiji presided.
