Chinese police have cracked nearly 500 criminal cases and busted over 4,000 gangs since it launched a crack-down against mafia-style crimes in February 2006, the state media reported on Sunday, PTI reports from Beijing.

Meet comet Zhao
A new comet has been named after a Chinese astronomer, Dr Zhao Haibin, who discovered the celestial body, the official media reported on Sunday, PTI reports from Beijing.

Zhao discovered the comet close to the Cetus constellation in mid-September.
