The channels were not visible in various parts of the state including Chennai and Coimbatore, as announced by the Thamizhaga Cable TV Operators’ Association (TCOA). Kayal Ilavarasu, president, Tamil Nadu Cable TV Urimaiyalargal Sangam said that the Sun DTH will affect the livelihood of thousands of operators. He said they will stage massive state-wide protests tomorrow.
According to a Coimbatore report, the operators would hold protest demonstrations in the city. The service was supended in the city for over 12 hours from six am.
The Sumangali Cable Vision, Sun TV’s arm, blamed TCOA for the blackout and also tendered an apology to its viewers.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Sunday met with the representatives of the cable TV operators associations and assured solution to their problems. “All their problems will be solved when the Government’s Arasu Cable Corporation will start functioning,” he said in a release here.
