Samajwadi Party State President S Bangarappa condemned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunadhi’s statement on Ramasethu and his ridiculing of Rama.

Addressing a press meet, he said “I have read Valmiki Ramayana. Ramasethu and Ramayana is part of Hindu belief.”

The petition on the existence of Ramasethu filed by the Centre to the Supreme Court has heart the feelings of thousands of Hindus.

Mr Bangarappa said that hundreds of houses have been destroyed in the heavy rainfall that lashed North Karnataka.

Centre has neglected the state and has not sent any Study team to assess the damage. State government has also failed to solve the problem.!
