Farmer commits suicide
Chikmagalur, dhns: An incident of a farmer committing suicide owing to financial constraints took place at Chikmagalur.
The deceased has been idnetified as H R Bairegowda of Haliyur. He had borrowed a loan of Rs 82,000 from Aldur Vyavasaya Seva Sahakari Bank in 2004. He took this extreme step as he could not repay the loan. A case has been registered.
Two held
Police arrested two persons for illegally tranpsorting 22 kg of sandalwood wortgh Rs 22,000 at Sakharayapatna. According to police, the arrested are Ramesh and Imran, residents of Kodi Camp in Birur.
Killed in mishap
Balaji Nayak died in a road accident after his bicycle collided with a speeding ambassador. Mr Nayak was riding from Kadoor to Thangalithandya.
