HASC score easy win
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Hindustan Aeronautic Sports Club outclassed Controllerate of Inspection Electronics (CIL) 5-1 in the BDFA Super Division football league on Monday.

HASC’s fourth win of this season’s league came with ease at the Bangalore Football Stadium. An initial flurry was all CIL could manage and as they faded away, HASC wrested control, slotting in three goals in the first half and two in the second. Satish struck three goals while Rajendra Prasad and Bimal Minz netted the other two.
CIL wasted some early chances, sending the ball wide of Gumpe Rime’s goal. HASC then took over, exploiting a weak CIL defence. CIL also didn’t have a regular goalkeeper on the day, with Venkatesh missing out due to a red card in the previous game and Chand Pasha remaining on the injured list. Saravana had to don the gloves for the first time in his club career.

He was badly let down by the defence two times midway through the first half as HASC forged ahead. Sumit Thapa’s crosses from the left caused the damage, with Satish banging in the first goal in the 21st minute and then Rajendra Prasad volleying home the second a minute later.

HASC made it 3-0 in first half’s injury time. Xavier Vijaykumar darted down the right flank before crossing for Satish, who easily beat Saravana with a quick flick.

Six minutes into the second half, Satish made it 4-0 and Bimal Minz completed the HASC tally in the 73rd. Pradeep pulled one back for CIL in the 84th minute.

Dharmaraja Union and Government Press played out a 5-5 in the ‘A’ Division league earlier. Kelio (13th and 86th minutes), Alwyn (50th), Ganesh (66th) and Sandeep (78th) scored for Dharamaraja. For Government Press, Vijay Babu (46th, 74th, 85th), Sudhakar (65th) and Benedict (77th) were the scorers.

Tuesday’s matches: HMT vs Universal (‘A’ Division. 1.45 pm), BEL vs SAI (Super Div, 3.45 pm).
