Rush for the one-day international tickets is a common phenomenon in India and the superb performance of men in blue in the Twenty20 World Cup has given the fans one more reason to run to the counters. The scene was no different at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium where the ticket sales for the first one-dayer between India and Australia started and ended on Monday.
Fans thronged the ticket counters even from Sunday night, and the tickets, 12,000 for the public, were sold out by Monday afternoon.
“All the tickets kept for the public have been sold out. Hope the fans will get cracker of a contest on 29,” KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel said.
Pak visit
Meanwhile, a Pakistani delegation visited the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the venue for the third Test between India and Pakistan on December 8 to 12, on Monday. The Pakistani delegation -- Sohail Khan and Zahir Khan -- discussed the security aspects with Patel and Karnataka State Cricket Association president Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar and N Achuta Rao, City Police Commissioner.
“They discussed security at the airport, escort to the hotel, security in the team hotel, practice areas and during the match with us. The Pakistan delegation was quite satisfied with the arrangements,” Patel said.
