Kasturi, a Kannada channel, will be launched formally on Wednesday. Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and managing director of Kasturi Media Private Limited, announced this in an informal chat with reporters in Bangalore on Monday.
Ms Kumaraswamy said Kasturi, the first ever Kannada channel by a Kannadiga, will focus on issues concerned to children, women and the aged.
Cine actors Ramesh Aravind, Srinath and director Nagathihally Chandrashekhar will hold special programmes. Small screen director T N Seetharam is directing a serial for the channel.She said the channel will air five bulletins a day. For national and international news the channel has come to an understanding with CNN-IBN.

“My husband is in politics. But I am not. Our news presentation will be unbiased. The channel is totally a business enterprise and we will run it professionally”, she said. She said that the company would launch a news channel in the next six months.
