Contempt plea against govt
New Delhi, DHNS:

A petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the Union Government, all states and Union Territories for not implementing the judicial direction to appoint more judges in both lower and higher judiciary for speedy delivery of justice.

Petitioner Sanjay Goel said the Apex Court should initiate contempt proceedings against the contemners for breach and willful non-compliance of directions issued by the court in its order pronounced in connection with the All India Judges’ Association vs Union of India on March 21, 2002.
