BEL Sports Club dropped their first points in the BDFA Super Division football league this season after they were held to a goalless draw by Sports Authority of India at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Tuesday.
BEL had won all their previous three matches but on this day, they found SAI a bit too tough to handle. In fact, it was SAI who dominated the encounter and they could come away victors had they converted a clutch of chances that came their way.
In the end, Kenneth Arokiaraj and company had to settle for one point when three were there for the taking.
In the ‘A’ Division match earlier in the day, Universal drubbed HMT Sports Club 4-1. Sunil opened the scoring for Universal in the 26th minute. HMT equalised through Sundar in the 45th minute but they conceded three goals in the last 15 minutes to suffer a big defeat.
Suresh Babu netted the second HMT goal in the 75th minute and Anthony FM netted the third. Sunil then completed the tally, striking his second goal of the game in the 82nd minute.
Wednesday’s matches: AGORC vs Tilak Memorial (‘A’ Division, 1.45 pm), Oriental vs Postal (Super Division, 3.45 pm).
