Alert immigration officials at the Bangalore Airport nabbed a Sri Lankan national who was trying to sneak out of the country using a fake passport and visa papers during the wee hours of Wednesday.
Dhusanth (23), a Jaffna resident, was all set to board a Lufthansa flight bound for Paris with a fake passport and UK visa papers. Police said the accused was caught while he tried to skip the security counter and was moving suspiciously.
On enquiring, Dhusanth said he was planning to land in Germany via Paris.
He told police that soon after boarding the plane, he wanted to destroy the passport and seek asylum in Germany.
Commits suicide
A housewife committed suicide by hanging at her residence in 5th Block, Chamundinagar, in Magadi Road police station limits, on Wednesday.
Police said Maheshwari (22), wife of Ananth Kumar, a mechanic, took the extreme step when she was alone at home. The couple have a one-and-half year old son and a four-month-old child.
