HAL, CAE’s JV for simulator centre
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and CAE, Canada on Wednesday in the City, signed an agreement to establish a joint venture company that will open a helicopter simulator training centre in Bangalore. The JV company, Helicopter Academy to train by simulation of flying (HATSOFF) will be owned equally by HAL and CAE.
Rajesh Exports may go for bonus
Country’s largest jewellery manufacturing company, Rajesh Exports has informed stock exchanges that its board will meet on October 22, 2007 to consider the issue of bonus shares or splitting of existing equity shares of Rs 2 each to equity share of Re 1 each. Rahesh Exports’ share price closed at Rs 980 on Thursday, up 5.8 per cent from Wednesday’s close.
Flamingo’s plans Rs 100 cr capex
Flamingo Pharmaceuticals Ltd announced in Bangalore on Thursday its plans to double its capacity at an investment of Rs 100 crores to establish strong presence in domestic market and leveraging the export opportunity in the contract manufacturing business. The expansion aims a turnover of Rs 500 crore in the next 5 years.
M&M launches Scorpio Getaway
Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday launched its global lifestyle SUV Scorpio Getaway in the City. The new lifestyle product is based on the Scorpio platform and sports a grand deck that can carry various equipment & gear as per the customer’s lifestyle needs. . The Scorpio Getaway is available in 2WD and 4WD options and are priced at Rs 7.13 lakh and Rs 8.18 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Bangalore).

Sun Microsystems India announced on Thursday a technology alliance with Aunwesha Knowledge Technologies, a software product development company operating in the IT segment of e-Learning and knowledge management, to deliver an end-to-end e-Learning solution to the academic community.
Yahoo! India’s open hack day
Following the success of open hack day in the US and London, Yahoo India plans to hold another open hack day in Bangalore on the 5 & 6 of October, 2007, announced the company on Thursday in the City. Waters India’s 20th year
Waters India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Waters Corporation, USA, celebrated its twentieth years of operations here on Wednesday in the City. With a view to lend support to customers, the company also inaugurated a technology centre at its Bangalore laboratory. Waters Corporation’s worldwide President Art Caputo said, “We hope to double our growth rate by 2010.” . Samsung to scale up Chennai plant
Samsung will be pumping around $100 million in phases at its state-of-the-art Chennai plant to scale up manufacturing capacity of colour TVs and home appliance productsin the next three years, Samsung India CEO R Zutshi disclosed in Kolkata on Thursday. Chennai facility may produce refriegerators and monitors besides CTVs. The company also unveiled a range of new Flat TVs in the city.
Lupin acquires Rubamin Lab’s
Lupin on Thursday announced the acquisition of Rubamin Laboratories (RLL), a part of the Vadodara-based Rubamin group, for an undisclosed price. Rubamin group is engaged in the manufacture of advanced intermediates for APIs under contract research and manufacturing (CRAMS) model, said Lupin in a notice.
