The PU Department Joint Deputy Director (administration) R Goverdhana on Thursday said that the department will not interfere with the I PU results.
This was the outcome of Bangalore District Government Aided and Unaided Pre university College principals’ meeting held at Surana College on Thursday. He said that he received complaints from college principals stating that some Deputy Directors would compel them to boost the I PU results by promoting all the students and “it’s not the department responsibility to get involved in the results.”
He also observed that though, some colleges produced cent per cent results in I PU, the II PUC results would be very less. The I PU results should at least near the II PU results, Mr Goverdhana said. During the meeting, the principals agreed to conduct I PU exams in March 1st week and announce the results by March 31. And, the supplementary exams would be held in May.
The department requested the colleges to highlight the importance of 75 per cent attendance to students otherwise they would not be allowed to take up the exams. The colleges should send letter to parents, if the student has attendance shortage and also maintain documents related to students’ attendance including the copy of letter sent to parents. Mr Goverdhana said that the enrollment for students aged above 18 years should directly approach the colleges.
“We have found that these students approach the colleges through some private agencies for enrollment and fees.” he said
