JD(S) is confident of winning at all the 27 CMC wards, in which it is contesting as it enjoys good public support and will come to power, said JD(S) leader G Ramraju at a press conference here on wednesday.
Ramraju analysing the coalition government’s effort to develop local bodies by allocating required funds added that this in turn had won the JD (S) the support of the public.
Young and educated candidates from JD (S) are in the fray which is a positive development, said JD(S) taluk president BanakanahalliNagaraj.The achievement of the chief minister is another strong reason to face the elections, he added.
Another JD (S) leader Srikrishna opined that if worked collectively, winning is definite. JD (S) leader Dayanand questioned the righteousness of three time minister Srinivasa Gowda (Two time minister from JD (S), who is now in Congress) for attributing the achievements done during JD (S) reign to Congress party.
He appointed his followers as officials in CMC paving way for irregularities. Thus, in a way the minister is responsible for alleged irregularities in the CMC, he said. He criticised the minister for falsely taking the credit of Yaragolu project which was not completed during his tenure.
Demanding a valid reason from Mr Gowda for allegedly taking away the credit of constructing the Government Law College buildings as well as the varsity’s new PG centre and many other, he said these were the achievements of the coalition government.
