Halle’s unborn baby gets cover
It seems pregnant Hollywood actress Halle Berry is having a tough time. The Oscar-winner has hired security guards following racial threats to her unborn baby, reports PTI from New York. The move came after she received an anonymous letter at her Los Angeles home from a person who cannot stand the idea that Berry, who has a white father and African-American mother, is having a baby with a white guy, the media reported.
‘See-through’ frogs jump in
Japanese researchers have succeeded in producing see-through frogs, letting them observe organs, blood vessels and eggs under the skin without performing dissection, AFP reports from Tokyo.
“You can see through the skin how organs grow, how cancer starts and develops,” said the lead researcher Masayuki Sumida, professor at the Institute for Amphibian Biology of state-run Hiroshima University. The researchers produced the creature from rare mutants of the Japanese brown frog, or Rena japonica.
Young & Restless actor Evans dies
British-born Michael Evans, who starred on Broadway with Audrey Hepburn in Gigi but was perhaps best known as Col Douglas Austin on TV’s long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless, has died, reports AP from Los Angeles. He was 87. From 1980 to 1995, Evans played the best friend of billionaire Victor Newman, who was played by Eric Braeden, on CBS’s The Young and the Restless.
