Mysore University Registrar (Evaluation) A B Ibrahim has been transferred putting an end to the his ongoing tiff with Vice Chancellor Prof J Shashidhar Prasad.
The transfer order reached the Registrar’s office at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday and he reportedly vacated his office at 5 pm.
He has handed over the charges to Accounts Finance Officer. He started his stint at the varsity since August 30, 2006. The V-C had reportedly recommended the transfer of Ibrahim recently. Prasad had held Ibrahim responsible for leaking of many classified matters regarding the University affairs to the media and to general public.
In the Syndicate Meeting held on September 19, Ibrahim had reportedly raised objections to the ‘out reach’ programme offered by institutions across the country under the name of Mysore University. According to him, ‘outreach’ programme was not only misused by many institutions - which lacked even basic facilities - to swindle money.
Attempts to discuss the malpractices that the enrolled institutions were carrying out was put on hold for a single reason that the programme brought Rs 3 crore revenue and that the varsity did not have first hand information on the working pattern of such institutions.
