As per a new agreement with Mescom, the public can pay electricity bills in post offices, said Senior Superintendent of Post Offices (Mangalore division) M Jagadeesh Pai.
Speaking at the Postal Adalat organised at Post Office in Balmatta on Thursday, he said electricity bills of any Mescom sub-division will be accepted at any of the computerised post offices and there is no need to fill any slip or forms to pay the bill.
A computer generated receipt will be given for the payment made and bills will have to be paid within the due date. However, payments will be accepted only in cash.
The Mescom bills will be accepted in 22 post offices including Mangalore HO, Kulshekar Head PO, Kankanady PO, Kodialbail PO, Hampankatta PO, Balmatta PO, Milagres PO, Ashoknagar PO, Panambur PO, Bejai PO, Kinnigoli PO, Ullal PO, Bajpe PO, Mulky PO and others, he explained. Moreover, railway ticket booking facility will be started in post offices, he added. There were no complaints from the public during the adalat.
