For, joy and merry abounded at the HC Advocates Association hall, where a week-long colourful Gowri-Ganeshotsava was organised.
The fest, jointly organised by HC Advocates Friends Circle and Advocates Association, Bangalore, enchanted the participants with an aura of religious devotion and culture. The idol of Lord Ganesha, designed by renowned artist of Belgaum J J Patil, along with the idols of the elephant-headed god’s parents Gauri and Shiva, was part of the attractive display carried out by a City decoration artist, Channappa and his team.
The court premises was in a festive mood throughout the week with advocates, court staff and litigants sparing time to enjoy the events hosted at the fest. The cultural events, scheduled everyday during lunch hour, offered a break for all from their daily chores.
A grand puja was offered on the day of Ganesha Chaturthi (Sept 15) which had HC judges also participating during the occasion.
The day was marked by a unique heart-touching event with blind artistes of Guruvatsalya Kala Sangha presenting devotional music and bhajans.
The cultural events during the week included Pandit Vidwan Sri Vidyabhushana Swamiji’s dasa devotional songs, Carnatic music recital by Ranjini sisters of Mangalore and Hindustani music by Khahandikar and Ravindra Thoragavi.
A concert of Hindi cinema songs by Swaralahari, a City-based art troupe entirely comprising of advocates themselves, made the concluding day of the fest (Sept 21), memorable. On that day, Ganesha was bid farewell for the year and taken for immersion at Sankey tank.
