After a two-year wait, Road Romeo finally sees the light of the day. The plot revolves around Dilip ( Dilip Pai ) a careless, irresponsible, degree holder belonging to a lower middle class family.
As usual, he falls in love with Anjali ( Ashita) whom he meets in a restaurant. He is taken aback when Anjali refuses to marry him as he doesn’t have a job. Chastised, he takes her words as a challenge and becomes employed as well as responsible person.
The film seems to suggest that becoming responsible is necessary before falling in love. The first half is full of Romeo Dilip’s daydreaming, ragging and fighting -yes, Kaurava Venkatesh has done a splendid job. But these scenes have a sense of deja vu about them.
Ashita who has done the role of sister in several films has done well as the heroine here. But debutant Dilip’s performance is not upto the mark.
It is Avinash, as Dilip’s father who outshines everybody in the film. The sad part is that though many comedy actors are part of the movie, it provides no humour. Composer Indra could have done better as the songs fail to impress.
Likewise, the director who has given many hits has completely failed in the movie. Those keen on watching the same old story and same old method of narration, may enjoy this film too.
