It would have made more sense if the movie was named Sex, Kiss Etc. There isn’t much scope for anything else when one of the heroes (Imaad Shah, as a Delhi University student) is chasing a rather horny hat-trick – bedding three women in a day. And it doesn’t help much either that most of his hostel-mates have similar goals.
First you count the nocturnal trips that Shah makes to the brothel, then you gape at the alacrity with which even choolgirls jump into the bed for a quickie.
Has Gen-Next really got into such mega mess? Or is the director just cashing in on what really sells? Manish Tiwary wanted to show the clash of ideologies (or shall we say, the clash between monogamy and ‘however much you may please’?)
But Tiwary wrongly attributes every virtue to a middle-class upbringing and every vice to your parent’s bank balance. For instance, Shreyas Talpade, the ordinary Bihari student, is portrayed as the focused college leader while the stinking-rich Imaad Shah is shown going after every pair of legs in skirts, salwars and sarees.
Imaad scores as the non-typical Bollywood casanova, who loves sex as much as his books. Shreyas Talpade’s talent, however, hasn’t been fully tapped. A college flick strictly for adults.
