Former President APJ Kalam, on his first visit to the City after relinquishing the office, was late for all the functions on Friday.
The reason? Mr Kalam, who used IAF aircraft while in office, had to take a scheduled flight from Delhi, which was delayed.
The former President who was to participate in five events during his day-long trip to the city, apologised at every event for turning up late- “I sincerely apologise for coming late. My flight was delayed”. He also postponed his visit to New Horizon College of Engineering where he was scheduled to make an appearance.
According to sources, Mr Kalam’s flight, which was scheduled to land at 10.30 am, was delayed by an hour.
He was scheduled to leave Bangalore by no frills airlines Air Deccan, which was also delayed, added the source.
