BMIC: CM to keep fight on
Refusing to accept the Supreme Court stay on the fresh tender for BMIC project as a set back, Chief Minister H D Kumaswamy on Friday said he will continue to fight for the protection of State’s property, till his last breath.
“It is neither a setback nor a loss of face to the government. The order has been misquoted by the media,” he said.
Poor response for ‘secure zone’
The Government Railway Police (GRP) may have several ambitious plans to make the City Railway Station a secured zone, but the South Western Railway (SWR) authorities are turning down its suggestions.
SP (Railways) K H Srinivasan said he had written a letter six months ago to the SWR suggesting measures for fool-proof security of the station. However, no steps have been taken so far. “We asked them (Railways) to construct a compound wall with watch-towers encompassing entire station and have facility to check each baggage as done at airports, but there there is no
response,” he said.
