DH Career fest kicks off

The two-day career fest organised by Deccan Herald Headstart kicked off at the Sacred Heart Girls High School on Residency Road.

The fest is being organised by this newspaper’s job portal CareerAvenues.in and recruitment management service providers Next.

Convergys, Firstsource, Infosys, 24/7 Customer, Mphasis, ITC Infotech, SiTEL and Reliance Life Insurance conducted interviews on Saturday. The event has as its focus employment opportunities in the IT/ITES and insurance sectors.

Teams from companies including Convergys conducted multi-round interviews at the fest with candidates for voice processing jobs. The company, while hosting graduate freshers at the interviews, also interviewed undergraduates with a six-month work experience. Spot recruitment is also being done by some employers.

Sheeba K S, Regional HR Manager, Reliance Life Insurance, said the company was looking at candidates for sales manager openings during the event. The organisers are planning to upload CVs of those candidates who register at the event, on the website www.careeravenues.in to enable a better access for prospective employers.
They said more than 2,000 registrations were expected over the two days. The career fest will continue on Sunday, between 10 am and 5 pm.
