DH News Service,Tumkur:
Counting of the votes polled in the CMC and other local body elections held on September 28, will be held today. The district administration has made all necessary arrangements for the same.

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in all the centres where voting took place and where counting will take place, including Tumkur City, under Section 144, Deputy Commissioner S R Umashankar, who is also the District Election Officer, told reporters here.

As per the orders, victory marches have been banned in Tumkur and all the nine taluk headquarters.
The measure has been taken to maintain law and order after the results are announced, said Superintendant of Police P Harishekharan.

Exclusions
The orders, in  force for three days, will not be extended to celebration of national festivals, marriages and funeral processions, the SP added.

Counting for Tumkur, Tiptur and Sira city municipal councils , Madhugiri, Pavagada, Kunigal and Chikkanayakanahalli town municipal councils as well as Gubbi, Koratagere and Turuvekere town panchayats will commence at 8 in the morning.

Results
Counting for the Tumkur CMC will be held at the Government Polytechnic college, while the same will be carried out in Pallagatti Adavappa College for Tiptur and Government Pre University College for Sira, respectively.
The counting is expected to conclude by late afternoon or evening and results of all the local bodies are expected by evening itself. Public entry to all the counting centres has been prohibited and security has been tightened to prevent any untoward incident, Mr Harishekharan told reporters.
