To create an awareness among the local citizens to keep the coastal environment clean, Coast Guard is observing Coastal clean up day every year.

Enthusiastic students were busy cleaning the beaches and dumping all the dust and waste in a plastic bag, without caring the sunshine. They became role model for others to join hands with the Coast Guard. 
Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao inaugurated the clean up day. Coast Guard Commandant M N Bhaadkar was present. As many as 72 NCC cadets (army wing), 159 NCC cadets (naval), 43 NSS students and officials took part in the cleaning drive.
