Submit CDs: Godhra panel
Ahmedabad, dhns:
The G T Nanavati and K G Shah Commission probing the Godhra riots on Saturday asked cellular companies to submit fresh CDs containing details of mobile phone calls made during the Naroda Patiya incident in 2002.

The Commission asked two cellular companies operating at the time of the incident, Cell Force and AT&T to furnish fresh details of 43 mobile numbers including those of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the then minister of state for home Gordhan Jhadafiya, the then health minister Ashok Bhatt, Naroda MLA Maya Kodnani, minister I K Jadeja, police commissioner P C Pande, and VHP leader Jaideep Patel.

The details are crucial corroborative evidence by the Jansangharsh Manch — the NGO representing the victims of communal violence that will help contest claims by some leaders that they were not present at the place of attack.

Mukul Sinha, the advocate representing the NGO, claimed that the CDs would give details of location of politicians, police officials and rioters when Naroda Patiya flared up. He said the move would establish the authenticity of the CDs provided by IPS official Rahul Sharma.
