One should not start a countdown or set a deadline for Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to submit his resignation. For there are lots of issues to be sorted out at the national level by JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and BJP leaders in Delhi.
This is the new argument put forth by members of the CM’s camp on Saturday. The talks between BJP national leader Yashwanth Sinha and Gowda regarding the transfer of power have begun.
They will go on for some days. There are many issues to be sorted out because both are national parties. Kumaraswamy is out of the scenario now, because his father is handling the issue, members of the CM’s coterie asserted.
Quit
Asked whether the CM would quit on or before the deadline, they said, “the talks have begun and so the question of a deadline doesn’t arise. If the CM resigns, there will be a constitutional crisis. So, he should not be resigning.”
“In 2004, S M Krishna continued as CM for about 20 days before Dharam Singh became the CM. The BJP has to wait patiently if it wants to take over the administration. The quitting of Sriramulu is not the solution. Janaradhana Reddy and his brother Karunakara Reddy have caused immense damage to the Gowda family”.
