Lakhs attend holy mass
All roads led to St Mary’s Basilica, in Shivajinagar, on Sunday, as over a lakh devotees congregated to attend the holy mass during the 125th anniversary of the Consecration of the Church. The highlight of the day was a mass marriage ceremony of nine Kannada and 21 Tamil couples.  Devotees dressed in shades of orange, signifying piety, made a beeline to attend the mass.

Selection camp for Bal Shree awards
The National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi will conduct a zonal level selection camp for the National Bal Shree Awards on September 3 and 4, for those candidates who have been selected in the local level camps.
The competition will be held in four categories: creative writing, creative performance, creative scientific innovation and creative arts. The competitions will be held at the Centre for Youth and Cultural development, 14, Okalipuram, on September 3,  at 10 am.

Eye check-up camp for cops
An eye check-up camp for police personnel, organised by a private eye hospital, was held at the Police Commissioner’s office here. The camp was held as traffic police had complained that high capacity lights used by vehicles in City were damaging their eyes.
