Going a step ahead in foreign direct investment (FDI) in education sector, Mumbai-based MT Educare, a subsidiary of Mahesh Tutorials Group, has entered into an FDI agreement with the Maritius-based fund Helix Investments. MT Educare has a branch at Alake in the City also.

Announcing the institute’s new step here, MT Educare South Zonal Head Prabhakar K Shetty told press persons that their institute has attracted a total of $ 12 million from the Helix, which will be utilised to expand their operations across India.

Mahesh Tutorials, founded in 1988, has about 100 centralised branches across the country, one among which was started in Mangalore in April last.

The institute has ushered in a new wave of coaching in the education sector, fulfiling the most urgent requirements of the students with sophisticated methods. Insurance scheme and ‘Hum se poocho’ round-the-clock helpline for students, feeding over 300 street children everyday are some of the service-oriented initiatives of the institute.
