Drinking water for Bagepalli and Gudibande taluks have to be supplied within 15 days from Paragod Chitravathi dam as said in the scheme, else a strong protest will be held warned former MLA N Sampangi.
Speaking to the media in the town, he said that the scheme was a prestigious one between the state and Andhra Pradesh. The prestigious scheme was finally taken over by the state. The main objective of the scheme was to supply flouride less water to Gudibande and 104 villages around here.
It is three years since the completion of the scheme and water is being supplied to the town and Gudibande only. The rest 104 villages are spared of drinking water and have been facing serious problems without the availability of it, he stated.
Criticising the apathy of the government regarding this, the former MLA said that a strong protest against the government will be held within 15 days if the same problem persists.
He also demanded the government to establish more and more industries as there are no permanent lakes and rivers in the taluk. Added to this, the Industrial development department has also taken possession of the lands in and around the taluk.
It is the need of the hour to establish Industries soon as and contribute to the development of the district since it is a barren land.
