‘Kashmir Policy Unchanged’
New Delhi, Sept 2
Prime Minister Nehru today declared in the Lok Sabha that whatever reasons they had in the past to take a particular attitude in regard to Kashmir “and we had adequate reasons” the emergence of the SEATO and the Bangalore Pacts and the “very considerable” military aid received by Pakistan from the United States had “strengthened and solidified” that attitude.

Caught Napping
New Delhi, Sept 2
Prime Minister Indira Gandhi today took everyone by surprise while effecting a major reshuffle-cum-expansion of her council of ministers. The national press corps were caught napping.
None knew about the reshuffle till an hour before the swearing-in of the new entrants by President Zail Singh at Rashtrapathi Bhavan today.
Correspondents and photographers who rushed to Rashtrapati Bhavan had to run from pillar to post to get the names of the new entrants and the changes in the portfolios of the senior Cabinet Ministers.
