A gang war was averted by Chikpet police  who arrested five persons.

They also recovered a car and lethal weapons from them. The five are: Y H Chandrashekhar (21), Manjunath alias Kabab Manja (23), Narasimha (23), Channakeshava (22) and Manjunath (22).

Police arrested them in Mamulpet when they were planning to burgle houses.
Chandrashekhar, Manjunath and Narasimha are wanted for several criminal cases.

During interrogation, Chandrashekar and Manjunath revealed they, along with Rajajinagar Thimma alias Thimmesh, had hatched a plan to kill Hotel Prakash, a rowdy, to settle old scores.

Apartment fire
A fire broke out in the Diamond District apartment on Airport Road late on Monday. Sources said residents noticed thick smoke billowing out of a department store at the basement of the apartment. Two fire tenders put out the fire.
